Four small children and one adult were hit by a driver in Northeast Philly
A person is in custody in connection with the incident, and the five people were taken to multiple hospitals.

A woman and four children aged 6 or younger were struck by a driver in Northeast Philadelphia on Friday evening.
Right after 6 p.m., the five people were outside on the 4700 block of Marple Street when a driver in a burgundy Chrysler 300 struck them.
Emergency services took the woman to Einstein Medical Center along with a 5-year-old girl. Two young girls, ages 3 and 6, were taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. And a 4-year-old boy was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.
Everyone had minor injuries but is considered to be in stable condition, police said.
Police did not release the identity of the driver. But a person and a Chrysler 300 are in police custody. Authorities said the investigation remained ongoing.
While fewer drivers have been dying in traffic crashes citywide, pedestrians and cyclists continue to be affected by traffic incidents.
In Philadelphia, 55% of people killed in traffic crashes last year were pedestrians, cyclists, and other non-motorists, according to PennDot.
