Police said a man stabbed his father in North Philadelphia

The incident occurred on West Wingohocking Street after the two men got into an argument, police said.

A 28-year-old man fatally stabbed his 61-year-old father Saturday night in North Philadelphia after the two argued, Philadelphia police said.

Officers responded shortly after 11:30 p.m. to a report of a person with a weapon in the 600 block of West Wingohocking Street in North Philadelphia, police said.

An older man was laying on the porch of a house, suffering from apparent stab wounds to the neck, police said. A medic unit took him to Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:11 a.m. Sunday, police said.

The man’s son was taken into custody without incident, police said. According to police, the man stabbed his father multiple times in the neck after they began to argue Police did not release the names of either man and did not say whether charges had been filed. .

The Homicide Unit is investigating.
