Philly man hits it big on ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’

Adam Clark knows all the answer on Thursday’s show

Adam Clark laughs loudly and says, “Sometimes”, when asked if he was a good student at North Penn High School in Lansdale. But clearly some knowledge soaked through. Enough to blaze through the auditions for

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

at Franklin Mills Mall in September.

It was three prong process: a 30 question multiple choice test, then an interview session and finally a taped segment with a show producer. "It was bam, bam, bam," says Clark, 33, a Philly resident. "He asked me to come on the show a week from that Thursday. I was shocked at how quickly it happened."

Then it was an Amtrak up to Manhattan to tape the shows with host Cedric the Entertainer. Shows, plural, because, as you can you see on tomorrow's installment (12:30 p.m. on ABC6), Adam kind of runs the table.

"I watched a dozen or so episodes in the days prior to taping mine," he says. "I studied the show and the mistakes that people made and formed a strategy."

Apparently it was effective. When Clark returns for Friday's show, he is only two answers away from $1 million.

At the time of his TV experience, Clark was attending the Montgomery County Police Academy. He's since graduated and is applying for jobs with various universities and municipalities. His game show winnings have "taken some of the pressure" off the job search. And that's his final answer.
