A 33-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday evening after police say he ran a red light while driving drunk in Overbrook and plowed into a 13-year-old boy and two parked cars.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicated that the man was driving an oversized Ford pickup truck west on Columbia Avenue when he blew through the traffic light at 61st Street and crashed into the teen and the other cars. The boy suffered head injuries and lacerations to his head, legs and hips and was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he remained hospitalized in stable condition around 7:30 p.m.

Cops arrested the driver for DUI shortly after the crash, police spokeswoman Officer Tanya Little said.
