It is risen: WATCH Mase Builders raises the rancher in Brigantine

Watch Mase Builders take a Sandy damaged rancher from its foundation to about four feet in the air in Brigantine.

Houses are being elevated all over the Jersey Shore post-Sandy. It's an unexpectedly subtle process, the house moves almost imperceptively higher and higher, raised through hydraulic pumps that power jacks underneath, as the cribbing is filled in underneath. Over the course of about 2 hours, a modest rancher on the ground becomes a rancher a floor up in the air, which should keep it high and dry for the next storm, while keeping insurance rates lower.
