Gov. Ridge appeared on "The Colbert Report" last night where he defended Big Shale against claims that hydrofracking harms the environment and leads to flaming water faucets.
And Ridge, right off the bat, told host Stephen Colbert that he was a consultant to the natural gas industry, but was not a lobbyist.
"Since it's my first time on your show, I hate to corrrect your first question, but I am not a lobbyist," Ridge said.

A quick click on the Pennsylvania Department of State website says otherwise.

Ridge is in fact a registered lobbyist (#L23757) in the state of Pennsylvania.
His firms, Ridge Global and Ridge Policy Group  and their principals are also listed.
