Report: Sixers would trade Turner 'in a heartbeat'
Another day, another Evan Turner trade rumor.
Another day, another Evan Turner trade rumor.
A couple weeks ago it was reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers were targeting Turner, among others, in a potential trade for 2012 lottery pick Dion Waiters.
Well, it seems the Sixers may have some interest.
According to NBA analyst Jared Zwerling, a source close to the situation has stated that the Sixers would trade Turner for Waiters "in a heartbeat."
"Philly is starting over. Waiters works because he's a second-year player on the rookie scale and under team control," the source stated.
Despite struggling as of late, Evan Turner has shown all-around improvement this season, and his statistics have benefitted from his being a top offensive option. Turner will be looking for a new contract come summer, and the Sixers may not want to pay him what he will be looking for after his most productive season as a pro.
If the Sixers organization isn't going to break the bank for Turner this summer, then they may want to get some value in return through a trade, and it seems that Cleveland may be a likely landing spot.
