Rob Ellis to become new midday host for The Fanatic

Former Sportsradio 94.1 WIP host Rob Ellis heading up to Bala Cynwyd to co-host a new afternoon show on 94.1 The Fanatic.

Back in March, Sportsradio 94 WIP host Rob Ellis left the station after being demoted from afternoons to the night shift (a move he first became aware of after reading about it on Crossing Broad).

Ellis left to become the host of the new Comcast sports morning show "Breakfast on Broad," but apparently he's not quite finished spending time on the Philly airwaves.

In addition to filling in for Mike Missanelli on air this week, sources at 97.5 The Fanatic confirm that Ellis will join the station as its new afternoon host, co-hosting a new show from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. along with Harry Mayes. The new show will launch Tuesday.

The show will continued to be produced by Joe Younes.

Mayes has been co-hosting the time slot alongside Eytan Shander, and sources indicate that Shander will be offered a yet-undetermined position at the station.

Shander took to Twitter Friday afternoon to thanks fans for tuning in:

The move will reuinte Ellis and Mayes on air, who hosted a show together back on 950 AM.
