Jesse Biddle, hit in head by hail, misses start with headaches

Jesse Biddle, the Phillies' top pitching prospect, reportedly missed Sunday's start with the Reading Fightin Phils due to headaches caused by an ice pellet that hit the pitcher in the head during a hail storm on Thursday.

Mike Drago of the Reading Eagle reported the news.

Dusty Wathan, Reading's manager, said the pitcher was held out as a precautionary measure. Wathan expects Biddle to make his next start.

Biddle is currently 3-4 on the year with a 3.18 ERA. The lefty has 61 strikeouts in 56.2 innings of work this season. Opponents are hitting .226 off the 22-year-old pitcher.
