PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team promoted assistant coach Susan Moran to associate head coach it was announced on Wednesday. Moran, the all-time leading scorer in Saint Joseph's basketball history, is entering her 10th season at her alma mater after serving the past nine as an assistant coach.

A 2002 graduate of Saint Joseph's, Moran is responsible for post development, opponent scouting, international recruiting, and equipment. Working with the post players for the past six seasons, Moran has guided seven Hawks to All-Big 5 honors, three to Atlantic 10 All-Conference distinctions, four to A-10 All-Rookie Team selections and a trio of Big 5 Rookies of the Year.

Additionally, Moran has been instrumental in international recruiting as the number of foreign-born Hawks has doubled from seven to 14 during her tenure.

As a Hawk, the Tullamore, Ireland, native started all 122 games in her career and is the only player in SJU history to lead the team in both scoring and rebounding for four consecutive seasons. An Honorable Mention All-American by the Associated Press and the WBCA in 2002, Moran scored 2,340 points and holds seven other school records, including career marks for free throws made and field goals made.

Named both the Atlantic 10 and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Year in 2002, Moran is one of just two women in Saint Joseph's basketball history to have her jersey retired. She was inducted into the Saint Joseph's Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in the spring of 2008, into the Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Fame in January of 2009 and into the SJU Athletic Hall of Fame in October 2010.

Moran and the Hawks begin the 2012-13 season on November 11 when Saint Joseph's hosts Princeton.
