Iron Hill Brewery opens in Huntingdon Valley, adds beer garden
This location has the chain's first-ever outdoor beer garden.
Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant's 12th location is online in Huntingdon Valley Shopping Center (785 Huntingdon Pike, Huntingdon Valley, 610-602-9255).
The location has two firsts:
Reach-in refrigerators at the host stand, where people can buy four-packs of 16-ounce canned beers as well as 750mL reserve bottles. Growlers also are offered.
Iron Hill's first-ever outdoor beer garden - a bar and patio area with 40 communal seats and tables and Adirondack chairs. The bar will have 16 draft taps and house wines. The beer garden is supposed to open in two weeks.
Head brewer Doug Marchakitus, at the Iron Hill location in North Wales for the last three years, will open with Iron Hill's six house beers on tap. Marchakitus also is working on Hopicana, a new IPA brewed with Chinook hops and infused with orange zest.
IH president Kevin Finn said Iron Hill was not finished with expansion and had deals for two or three new locations on the table.
