The commercial that's too shocking for Channel 6
The station is all about Action News, but a rep for the K&G Fashion Superstore chain says it has rejected a commercial that may be a bit too intense.
Channel 6 is all about Action News, but a rep for the K&G Fashion Superstore chain says the station is one of several that has rejected a commercial that may be a bit too intense.
It starts with a screen labeled "911 Call," and there's a transcription of what sounds like an exchange between a 911 operator and a frantic woman. "I was just robbed," she says.
"Stay calm, ma'am. Can you describe the suspect?" the operator replies. "He was tall, he wore a suit … oh, yea, and a name tag."
The point: She got overcharged on a dress at a department store.
The commercial is airing on CBS3, NBC10, MyPHL17, CW57 and Fox29, the K&G rep says. Besides 6ABC, two stations in Baton Rouge, La., one in Birmingham, Ala., two in Chicago and one in Seattle won't air it. A 6ABC spokeswoman offered no comment.
