Uber, the on-demand ride service, crunched its data to find the 12 most popular brunch destinations in Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia restaurant that Uber drivers visited most over the last three months between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays was not some red-hot flavor-of-the-moment but the durable Farmicia in Old City.
Opened in September 2004 by chef Kevin Klause and Metropolitan Bakery's James Barrett and Wendy Smith Born, it's one of the city's earlier adherents to the farm-to-table movement.
Old City takes the top three places on the list. Eight of the 12 have liquor licenses. Farmicia has a license but it has one of the most liberal BYOB policies in town and discounts alcohol 50 percent during brunch.
