Report: Former WCW, WWE wrestler Sean O'Haire committed suicide

UPDATE: Former WCW and WWE wrestler Sean O'Haire died of an apparent suicide, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

According to local police, O'Haire committed suicide. He was found in his bedroom beside his bed, with a red rope around his neck and connected to the bedpost.

O'Haire's father discovered his body and notified police.

Former WWE wrestler Sean Christopher Haire, who wrestled under the name Sean O'Haire, died Monday at his home in Spartanburg, S.C., according to an obituary on Tributes.com. He was 43.

The cause of his death is not yet known.

Haire debuted on the national wrestling scene in World Championship Wrestling in 2000. He remained with the company until it was purchased by the WWE in 2001.

The WWE decided to keep Haire under contract and he remained with the company until 2004.

After leaving the WWE, Haire worked for New Japan Pro Wrestling and took part in kickboxing and mixed martial arts.

Word of Haire's death didn't begin to spread until Tuesday night, when former WCW wrestler Scotty Riggs posted the unfortunate news on Twitter.

A celebration of his life will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at his home in Spartanburg.
