Citizen Diplomacy International of Philadelphia, formerly the International Visitors Council of Philadelphia, a public/private partnership with the U.S. Department of State and the City of Philadelphia, has named Thomas Jennings, a partner at Hill Wallack L.L.P., Yardley, chairman. He replaces John W. Goldschmidt Jr., a partner at Ference & Associates L.L.C., who will remain on the executive committee.

He replaces John W. Goldschmidt Jr., a partner at Ference & Associates L.L.C., who will remain on the executive committee.

Other directors include: Christopher S. D'Angelo, partner at Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhodes L.L.P., Philadelphia; Michael A. Schwartz, partner at Pepper Hamilton L.L.P., Philadelphia; and Gabriella Vacca, vice president, system engineering, at Comcast Corp., Philadelphia.

American Associates, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, has installed Marla and Robert Zipkin as chairs of its Philadelphia chapter, succeeding Connie and Sam Katz. The group raises funds and friends in support of Israel's youngest and fastest-growing university. Robert Zipkin is president and founder of Med Chem 101 L.L.C., the author of numerous publications, and the coauthor of three U.S. patents. Marla Zipkin is an educator who has a master's degree in early childhood education.

Also joining the leadership group is chapter associate chair Barbara Epstein Sivan.

The Philadelphia Zoo has reelected Jay H. Calvert Jr. chair. He is a senior partner with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius L.L.P. and has served as chair since 2008. F. William McNabb III, chairman and CEO of Vanguard, was voted chairman-elect.

Board vice chairs John A. Ginter, Joan C. Hendricks, and Ellen C. Wolf also were reelected. Ginter is senior managing director of Abbot Downing, a Wells Fargo business; Hendricks is the Gilbert S. Kahn dean of veterinary medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine; and Wolf is retired as senior vice president and chief financial officer of American Water.

The following were named board members: Lisa Bonnell, vice president of business process management within Comcast's Business Services division; Robert L. Brown III, a partner in the assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers; Orlando C. Esposito, executive vice president of PNC Financial Services Group; Molly K. Morrison, president of Natural Lands Trust; Diana L. Ramsay, president and CEO of Woods Services; and Caroline Buck Rogers, a community philanthropist who has played a key role in the philanthropic efforts of such organizations as the Shipley School, the Haverford School, Princeton University, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Academy of Music.

Philadelphia Veterans House Inc. has elected Duane Morris associate Dmitry Tuchinsky to its board. Tuchinsky practices health law and is a veteran of the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division.

Moelis & Co., a New York global investment bank, has appointed Kenneth L. Shropshire, a Wharton professor and corporate lawyer, as an independent board member.

Steven Nichtberger, chairman and CEO of ControlRad Systems Inc. and adjunct professor of health-care management at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, has been appointed to the Main Line Health board of governors.

People's Emergency Center, a West Philadelphia human-services agency, elected the following officers to its board:

   Michael Rashid, retired president and CEO of AmeriHealth Caritas, Philadelphia, chair; Francis Vargas, vice president-Elon Group, Altman Group of Companies, Fort Washington, co-vice chair; Ellen Brotman, partner at Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, Philadelphia, co-vice chair; Mike Verrill, director of business development at Fesnak & Associates L.L.P., Blue Bell, treasurer; Greg El, senior partner at TriZen, Glenside, secretary; Bernadine Hawes, marketing-research analyst at Community Marketing Concepts Inc., Philadelphia, chair emeritus.

The following new board members were named: Blair Boroch, chief operating officer, United Healthcare Community Plan of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia; Damien M. Ghee, vice president and relationship manager for the Metro PA Middle Market Lending Group, TD Bank, Philadelphia; Brian Keech, senior vice president and executive director at Drexel University, Philadelphia; Leslie Matthews, independent curator and visual-art adviser; Penny Stoker, global leader of HR services, business enablement shared services at EY L.L.P., Philadelphia; Rita Toliver-Roberts, vice president, academic advancement, Peirce College, Philadelphia; and Wayne Weitz, managing director at Gavin/Solmonese L.L.C., Wilmington.
