Japanese Tea Ceremonies
Phillytea.org is a Web site and school dedicated to the Japanese tea ceremony known as chanoyu. Small-group demonstrations of the tea ceremony are held monthly at Shofuso, the Japanese House and Garden in Fairmount Park. They are open to the public for a fee of $22 per person. Reservations are required and the program is not recommended for young children. The next one-hour demonstrations are on Sept. 7 at 1 and 2:30 p.m.

For those looking for a more intense learning experience, 12-week tea ceremony lessons are available. The lessons are organized and taught by members of Phillytea.org and held at Shofuso on select Saturdays.
