The Gesu School hosted its 2017 gala on May 11 at Vie in Philadelphia. The Gesu School is an independent Catholic school in North Philadelphia. Philadelphia's first independent Catholic elementary school, it has been recognized as a national model for inner-city education. Codirected by the Jesuits and the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Gesu serves 450 mostly non-Catholic children in grades pre-K through eight. Guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and live and silent auctions. Proceeds of $396,000 will benefit the Gesu School.
