DELAWARE COUNTY

Program teaches resource management in 5 sessions

MEDIA Natural Lands Trust announced that it is accepting applications for its Force of Nature program, in which individuals may become project leaders and volunteer for the regional land conservation organization.

During the hands-on training, participants will learn about resource management, outreach skills, tree planting and care, habitat management, invasive plant identification and removal, and related topics.

Eighty people have joined Force of Nature in the first three years of the program. They volunteer four hours a month for at least five months at one or more of the conservancy's 42 preserves in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.

The five training sessions on the third Saturday of the month (except December) begin Oct. 1 and continue through March 2015. The cost is $135, and the registration deadline is Aug. 1.
