Pennsylvania State Police are searching for clues to identify a young woman whose decomposed remains were found on New Year's Day in Ridley Creek State Park in Delaware County.
The body, which was discovered by a hiker off a trail in a wooded part of the 2,600-acre park, appeared to have been there for several months and was "fully skeletonized," said Trooper John O'Donnell of the State Police Media barracks. He described the remains as those of a tall, slender white female in her late teens or early twenties. Some clothing was found, but he declined to describe it.
The body is undergoing an autopsy to determine a cause of death. Police are also examining missing persons records. The police can be reached at 484-840-1000.
