The body of a woman found in the Schuylkill River Tuesday with duct tape around her head and a handcuff on her left ankle was identified Wednesday night as a missing Egg Harbor Township mother.

Nadirah Ruffin, 19, was shot and killed, according to an autopsy performed by the Philadelphia Medical Examiner, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel announced.

Ruffin, who had a 4-year-old son, was identified through dental records, Housel said.

Ruffin was taken from her cousin's home on the 800 block North Maryland Avenue in Atlantic City at gunpoint on March 26. Atlantic City police received a 9-1-1 call around 11:40 p.m. that night reporting that four masked suspects kicked in a door, ransacked the house and robbed the victims before taking Ruffin.

A bicyclist in Fairmount Park found the body around 10:35 a.m. Tuesday along Martin Luther King Drive and called police.

Anyone with information into Ruffin's death is asked to call the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office at 609-909-7800 or go http://www.acpo.org/tips.html.
