Four friends who were in the 15-foot skiff with Tanis were injured in the collision, including two sisters who remained hospitalized yesterday in critical condition. State police said they were still trying to determine what caused the skiff and a 30-foot Boston Whaler to collide on the north side of the river.

The boats were headed in opposite directions at the time. Two men aboard the Boston Whaler were not injured. - AP
