Haddon Twp. grad wins 3 bouts

Tyler Cunningham (Haddon Township) won all three of his 184-pound bouts to lead the Lycoming wrestling team in a quad meet at Wilkes in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., to help the Warriors to a 34-11 win over Trinity (Conn.) and a 20-15 win over McDaniel before the team fell to the hosts, 43-3, to wrap up the event.

Springfield 24, College of New Jersey, 17 - The Pride won the final two weight classes to pull out a victory in Ewing, N.J.

PJ Schmidt (Moorestown) scored a 12-4 major decision at 141 pounds for TCNJ, while John Darling (Moorestown), nationally ranked at 165 pounds, won his bout, 8-1.

Bloomsburg 21, Clarion 9 - The win by the Huskies (14-2, 4-0) in Clarion, Pa., clinched a tie for the Eastern Wrestling League dual meet title.

Matt Rappo (Council Rock South) posted a 5-2 win at 141 pounds.

Women's track and field. Emma Slattery (Downingtown West) broke the five-minute barrier in the mile (4:55.83) to qualify for her third IC4A event to lead St. Joseph's at the Giegengack Invitational this weekend in New Haven, Conn.

Men's track and field. St. Joseph's Tyler Gallen (Cardinal O'Hara) was the Hawks' only individual winner at the Giegengack Invitational, placing first in the 500 meters. He also was a member of the winning 4x400 relay squad with Jonathan Eisemann (Central Bucks South), Brendan Robert (Penncrest), and Derrick Henry (Timber Creek).

Alec Peabody (Abington Friends) was sixth (7.25) in the 60 meters.

 Women's ice hockey. Neumann (7-13-1, 4-6 ECAC West) beat Stevenson, 4-1, in nonconference action in Aston.
