Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery's shoulder strain is behind him even though he missed another practice
The Eagles wanted to rest the wideout because the team is off on Saturday.

Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is past the shoulder strain that sidelined him this week, but he still sat out of Friday's practice session. With a players' day off on Saturday, coach Doug Pederson said he wanted to give Jeffery an extra day of rest.
"Just a matter of keeping him rested," Pederson said. "We're not playing a game. I've seen a lot from him – probably more so than what you guys have seen – and I'm comfortable with where he's at in our offense. I want to make sure he's healthy going into the season."
Jeffery fell on his right shoulder last Saturday. He practiced on Sunday, but has not practiced since. Pederson said the injury was "initially a strain." Now it's just giving Jeffery's shoulder extra rest, and Pederson said that the injury is behind Jeffery.
The Eagles play their preseason opener on Thursday against the Green Bay Packers. Pederson said no decision has been made about Jeffery's availability because the Eagles have not set their roster yet. But with Jeffery, the Eagles are much more concerned about the Sept. 10 opener against Washington.
"We're not playing games for a while," Pederson said. "Games that matter, anyway. Getting ready for Washington."
