The Eagles released quarterback Matt McGloin and will keep only Carson Wentz and Nick Foles on the active roster, a positive sign about Foles' health.

They also placed cornerback Sidney Jones on the non-football injury list, as expected. Jones is eligible to practice between weeks 6-8. He then has a three-week window to be activated or go on injured reserve.

The Eagles also waived 14 players and the roster is now at 70. They must get down to 53 by 4 p.m. on Saturday. Wide receiver Paul Turner was waived with an injury settlement. These 13 players were waived outright:

LB Don Cherry, DT Winston Craig, WR Rashard Davis, TE Anthony Denham, QB Dane Evans, LB Carlos Fields, CB Aaron Grymes, DE Jake Metz, C Tyler Orlosky, T Victor Salako, LB Christian Tago, DT Gabe Wright, and TE Adam Zaruba.
