Philadelphia Soul announce open tryout date

The Philadelphia Soul announced that the team will be hosting an open tryout Nov. 23 at the NovaCare Complex in South Philadelphia.

The tryout is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. with registration beginning at 8 a.m. Prospective players can pre-register for the event for $60 via PayPal at the team's web site.

Those who do not pre-register can register the day of the tryout for a fee of $80 in cash or cashier's check only.

Players will be tested in a number of drills, including the 40-yard dash, broad jump, short shuttle and other position-specific drills.

Soul wide receiver Ryan McDaniel went from one of the many players who attended the team's open tryout last season to making a name for himself on the team and in the Arena Football League.
