A Montco YMCA helps women with leg amputation train for a Thanksgiving 5k
2:14
Stephanie Dunn had to have her leg amputated because of a rare bacterial infection two years ago. She credits the Spring Valley YMCA, which is outfitted with wheelchair accessible equipment, with helping her train and eventually qualify for increasingly mobile prosthetics. The one she wears now can navigate obstacles and is meant for active individuals. Dunn is currently training for the annual Gobble Wobble, a 5k hosted by the Spring Valley Y. She hopes it's the last one she'll walk as she's hoping to test into an even higher grade prosthetic that finally allows her to run.
