One year after ICE arrested Jersey Kebab owners, deportation still looms

The detention of a Turkish couple, Celal and Emine Emanet, who own a New Jersey kebab shop helped galvanize their community against immigration crackdowns last year.
Supporters of the restaurant in southern New Jersey held a vigil and raised $300,000 to help them. They've had assistance from elected officials. Their son, Muhammed Emanet, has blossomed as an advocate.
Their business has become more popular and moved into a bigger space. Like before, they continue to offer free food to those who need help.
