A 20-year-old woman was killed in an ambush shooting that left two other people wounded Tuesday evening in West Philadelphia, police said.

The woman was carrying a pizza box and walking east along the 5900 block of Market Street just before 6:20 p.m. when several shooters exited a dark-colored SUV and started firing, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The shooting was recorded by multiple security cameras and it was clear the woman was the intended target, Small said.

After the woman collapsed, one of the shooters is seen on video standing over her and continuing to fire “point blank,” Small said.

The woman — who was shot in the face, torso, hip, and legs, Small said — was transported by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 6:41 p.m.

A 55-year-old woman was also transported by police to Penn Presbyterian, where she was listed in stable condition with gunshot wounds to her legs, Small said.

A 24-year old man was taken by police to Penn Presbyterian and was reported in stable condition with several gunshot wounds.

Police found 27 spent shell casings from two separate caliber rounds, including one used for a semi-automatic rifle, Small said.

The three individuals who got out of the the SUV returned to their vehicle, which was last seen continuing east on Market and then south of 56th Street.
