A 40-year-old man was charged Saturday with fatally stabbing his 60-year-old aunt in Lumberton Township, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said.

The victim, Vanessa Sturtevent, was found dead on Friday afternoon in her Sterling Glen Apartments home, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Investigators identified her nephew, Jason Mutschler of Hainesport, as a suspect and brought him into the prosecutor’s office on Saturday for questioning. Mutschler was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

An autopsy performed by the Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office found stab wounds to Sturtevent’s head and neck, and blunt force trauma to her face and head, according to the prosecutor’s office.
