The Fountain of Life Center church in Burlington County's Florence Township was destroyed in an eight-alarm fire Monday night. The blaze broke out at about 6 p.m., prompting a response from more than 150 firefighters from more than 50 agencies across South Jersey and Pennsylvania, Florence Township Fire Department fire district administrator Robert Tharp said Tuesday.

The blaze was placed under control after about six hours, and firefighters were able to save roughly 65% of the church complex. The fire was the largest in Burlington County since an 11-alarm blaze at a Dietz and Watson plant in 2013, according to the Burlington County Board of Commissioners.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
