Rescue teams search for missing swimmer in Ocean City
A young man was reported missing off the coast of Ocean City, and the Coast Guard was involved in search efforts.

Rescue teams were scouring the waters off Ocean City, N.J., after a swimmer went missing at around 5 p.m. Monday in the area of the 10th Street Beach.
Members of the Ocean City Fire and Police Departments responded to a swimmer in distress call at 4:52 p.m., according to Lt. Dan Lancaster, of Ocean City Police. In addition to the fire department’s rescue teams and the police department’s drones, support was requested from the United States Coast Guard and New Jersey State Police to assist in the search.
The swimmer has not been located and the search remains active.
Multiple news outlets reported that the missing swimmer was a 19-year-old man who was on a body board a couple hundred yards from the beach when he disappeared. Ocean City Beach Rescue managed to save a second swimmer, who was able to provide information about the missing swimmer, according to the reports.
