Victorino and Bowa won the World Series with the Phillies during their playing careers. Victorino was a key member of the championship core in 2008, while Bowa was the starting shortstop when the franchise captured its first title in 1980. Following his 16-season playing career, Bowa transitioned to coaching and won Manager of the Year in 2001 with the Phillies. He serves as a senior advisor to baseball operations with the team.

Last year, the Phillies were represented by catcher Eduardo Tait, who was later dealt to the Twins as part of a trade package for Jhoan Duran. Andrew Painter was also included on the National League roster but did not make an appearance.
