The Eagles quarterback competition unofficially kicked off on Thursday with the first full squad practice of training camp.

The players weren't wearing pads and there was little contact, but the distribution of repetitions and the performance of the top three candidates gave us something to chew on this early in the race.

Michael Vick took the initial set of snaps with the first team offense during 7 on 7 and team drills, but essentially split reps with Nick Foles on the day, according to our unofficial count. Vick took 42 total snaps (25 with the ones), which Foles had 37 total snaps (18 with the ones).

Vick completed 22 of 27 passes with one interception to linebacker DeMeco Ryans. Foles hit on 20 of 24 throws and appeared a bit sharper in terms of getting the players set at line and getting the ball out of his hand quick.

Rookie Matt Barkley took 26 snaps with the third team while Dennis Dixon had eight. Barkley completed 12 of 18 passes with one pick.
