A bill to require photo ID at Pennsylvania polls

We're working today on an IOM editorial about a bill being pushed by Rep. Daryl Metcalfe that would require Pennsylvania voters to show photo ID at the polls every time they vote. Right now, voters only need to bring ID the first time they go to a polling place  -- and there's a pretty wide array of acceptable forms.

Here is Rep. Metcalfe's news release making the argument for the bill.

Here is a report from the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center arguing that the measure is too burdensome.

If you've voted today -- and not many have, but we're assuming IOM readers are a disproprtionately active bunch -- we hope the logistics worked out for you.
