Sixers fans on Reddit think they've identified Joel Embiid's celebrity crush

One of the most talked-about stories involving the Sixers this season is the secret identity of center Joel Embiid's celebrity crush.

Embiid ran a social media campaign seeking fan votes for the NBA All-Star Game under the premise that becoming a starter would force his celebrity crush, who most assumed was recording artist Rihanna, to pay attention to him.

But Sixers fans on Reddit think they've uncovered the real identity of Embiid's crush: 27-year-old Canadian model Danielle Knudson.

Despite the fact that Knudson has reportedly been dating professional tennis star Milos Raonic since 2015, the evidence presented by fans is compelling.

After last Friday's win over the Portland Trail Blazers at the Wells Fargo Center, Embiid changed the location on his Instragram post (something the phenom does often) to "Danielle's."

He also posted that "Danielle is the real MVP" on Twitter after the game.

Knudson, who models for GUESS and Sports Illustrated, had a great view of Embiid's 18-point performance (and his subsequent injury scare) during the game from courtside seats she shared with her friend and fellow model Melody Le.

The duo also attended the Sixers' 94-89 win over the Toronto Raptors two nights earlier.

Knudson has 294,000 followers on her Instagram account and more than 20,000 followers on Twitter, but has kept the people she is following under 1,000. One of those on both accounts is Joel Embiid.

CSN Philly even unearthed footage of Embiid walking over and speaking to Knudson after the game:

Knudson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Embiid will sit out the next two games due to the left knee contusion he suffered in the Trail Blazers game. He will be eagerly waiting to see if he'll be named as a reserve player in the NBA All-Star Game, as will most Sixers fans. The official announcement is expected Thursday night.
