LIVE: Eastern girls take halftime lead over Cherokee
Gen Okoro scored 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds as No. 1 Eastern took a 27-21 lead over No. 2 Cherokee at halftime of tonight's Olympic American girls' basketball clash.
Okoro, a 6-1 senior who has signed with Richmond, shot 4-for-7 from the field and 8-for-8 from the fourl line. She converted two conventional three-point plays.
Senioor Courtney Esudero kept Cherokee in the game. Escudero scored 11 points in the first half as the Chiefs' two Division I players, Monica Roeder and Tiffany Turner, combined for just six points.
