Jennings to join Temple football program

Adonis Jennings, a former all-South Jersey wide receiver from Timber Creek, who played his freshman season at the University of Pittsburgh, will be transferring to Temple.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Jennings, who earlier tweeted the information that he will attend Temple, says he wanted to return closer to home and chose the Owls over Rutgers. He said he was coming home due to a family situation and will apply to the NCAA to be eligible immediately instead of sitting out the mandatory one year.

"I really feel that Temple is the right fit," Jennings said in a phone interview.

Jennings will be the fourth Timber Creek player on the Temple roster. The others are running back Zaire Williams, iIncoming freshman cornerback Kareem Ali and junior college transfer defensive lineman Greg Webb, who attended Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.

"It's nice to have some familiar faces at Temple," Jennings said.

At Pitt he appeared in six games and had six receptions for 55 yards.

“I feel I can make an impact at Temple,” he said.
