Prime Rib shut down by burst pipe

Prime Rib, the steakhouse at the Radisson Blu Warwick (17th and Locust Streets), won't be serving Valentine's Day. An old pipe burst in the hotel above the restaurant, forcing a shutdown.

The timing of Valentine's Day on a Saturday managed to fill reservation books.

Prime Rib, the steakhouse at the Radisson Blu Warwick (17th and Locust Streets), won't be serving on what is among the busiest night of the year, though. An old pipe burst in the hotel above the restaurant, forcing a shutdown.

Owner Garth Weldon says he had 550 on the books.

He expects to reopen Sunday.

On the plus side, Prime Rib's patrons might be able to find a table nearby. The snow squalls are scaring away some Nervous Nellies.

Update: The restaurant has reopened.
