Res Ipsa: All-day cafe in Rittenhouse from Stock's Akin and ReAnimator Coffee
Meanwhile, Stock has expanded its hours.
Center City restaurateurs seem to be expanding to the outer neighborhoods.
Very preliminary info here, but Tyler and Nicole Akin of the Fishtown Viet BYOB Stock and Mark Capriotti and Mark Corpus from Kensington's ReAnimator Coffee are going the other way.
They are headed downtown to collaborate on an all-day cafe in the Rittenhouse area.
Res Ipsa - part of the Latin legal phrase res ipsa loquitor ("the thing speaks for itself") - is coming together at the Roosevelt building, 2220 Walnut St., taking over part of the former Salento restaurant. Opening is penciled in for September.
Tyler Akin, who was a sous chef at Zahav in his pre-Stock life, says the menu is still not set but will include house-made English muffins.
Meanwhile, Stock (308 E. Girard Ave.) has expanded its hours.
It is now open every day except for Tuesday, with lunch every day. Lunch is on from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Dinner is 5:30 to 10 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. It's open from noon to 8 p.m. weekends.
