Five things to do today – trapeze show, interior design demo, country concert

Did you ever wake up and wonder “What should I do today?” Yeah, me neither.

Did you ever wake up and wonder "What should I do today?" Yeah, me neither.

For those with an eye for interior design: Before the Icon Apartments at 1616 Walnut are opened, get a look inside and see how various interior designers fashioned a studio, one and two bedroom apartment. Walkthroughs are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and attendees are entered into a sweepstakes to win a consultation with one of the designers.

For those who'd rather look at the beach: If you want to avoid the sand but still get the beach experience, check out the "Chicken Bone Beach" exhibit at the Art Sanctuary in Rittenhouse Square. On display as a part of the Celebration of Black Writing, the photographs of Civil Rights era vacationers will be shown through August, due to popular demand. The gallery is open from noon until 4 p.m. today.

For an acrobatic treat: The latest performance to take place at The Porch at 30th Street Station is acrobatics group Tangle Movement Arts' "Passages", where performers will dress up like commuters and tourists at the station who climb ropes and trapezes. There are two performances, one at 2 p.m. and the other at 4 p.m.

For those who take grilled cheese seriously: This isn't your cafeteria grilled cheese. World Café Live at the Queen in Wilmington, DE is cooking up high-quality grilled cheese and pairing them with craft beers at 3 p.m. at this 21-and-older tasting.

For country fans: Grammy-nominated artist Dierks Bentley is touring in support of his seventh album Riser. He brings the show to Camden, NJ's Susquehanna Bank Center today during 92.5 XTU's 30th Anniversary Show with doors at 3 p.m.
