Aramark picks up Drexel dining services contract
Drexel University selected Aramark as its new dining-services provider, effective Dec. 11, university president John A. Fry said Monday.
Drexel had to move quickly to name a new food-services vendor after a dispute with the current vendor, SodexoMagic LLC, a joint venture of Magic Johnson Enterprises and Sodexo, one of Aramark's top global competitors.
Soon after Drexel issued a termination letter to SodexoMagic in September, SodexoMagic file a federal lawsuit alleging that Drexel misrepresented expected growth in Drexel's student body during contract negotiations.
Center-City-based Aramark also recently won a contract to replace Sodexo at Temple University.
