The Catholic Teachers Union voted this afternoon to strike next week at three South Jersey Catholic high schools.
Teachers at Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill, Paul VI High School in Haddon Township, and Holy Spirit High School in Absecon will walk off the job Monday, according to a union press release.
No strike date has been set for Sacred Heart High School in Vineland.
Union members have twice rejected the schools' "best & final" offers and took a strike authorization vote October 4.
Salary and medical benefits are the open issues.
The union has proposed a salary increase of 1.5 percent on the step for the first year and 1.75 percent on the step for the second year of a two-year contract.
The schools are proposing a two tiered system for medical benefits, with newly hired teachers paying 5 percent of premium costs.
The union has rejected the proposal that one group of teachers should pay for benefits, while others do not.
