Running season in Philadelphia kicks off on Sunday, September 17, when thousands of runners will lace up for the 40th annual AACR Rock 'n' Roll Half-Marathon.
With two weeks to go until runners take to the starting line, bibs are still available, though prices have jumped to $120. Fortunately, Philly.com is giving away five free bibs to this year's race. To enter, leave a comment below telling us why you want to run the Rock 'n' Roll Half.*
The largely flat course starts on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Runners will head towards City Hall and wind through Center City before heading over to Fairmount Avenue to pass by the historic Eastern State Penitentiary. The race continues along Kelly Drive then over Falls Bridge as runners make their way back towards downtown on MLK Drive. The finish line at Eakins Oval in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
