A Delaware County woman was critically injured Thursday after her sister improperly parked their minivan, and the vehicle rolled back and crushed her, police said.

Ridley Township Police Capt. Scott Willoughby said Rena Honn, 30, and Jacqueline Davis, 20, of Morton, were riding in their mother's Dodge van when they arrived at the Delaware County Housing Authority office at 1855 Constitution Ave. around noon.

Honn stopped the vehicle but apparently did not shift into park, Willoughby said. She went inside the building while her sister stayed in the front passenger seat.

The minivan then started rolling backward. Davis tried to get out, police said, but got caught by the door and slid underneath the van, which continued to roll backward.

The van stopped when it hit a parked vehicle, trapping Davis facedown under the front-passenger tire.

"She was actually crushed to the point she couldn't breathe," Willoughby said.

Davis was under the van for about 10 minutes, he said, before a passerby saw her, went into the building, and called for help.

She remained in critical condition at Crozer-Chester Medical Center on Friday. No charges were expected against Honn.
