A 26-year-old Jack & Jill Ice Cream vendor making a delivery to the La Salle University campus dining hall was stabbed inside a bathroom earlier this afternoon, officials said.

The vendor walked into the bathroom inside the Blue & Gold Dining Hall around 2 p.m., according to Karen Geus, a La Salle spokeswoman, and while washing his hands was stabbed in the shoulder by an unknown white male in his 20s with an unknown weapon.

La Salle Spokesman Jon Caroulis said "We simply do not know at this point whether the assailiant was or was not a student."

No other injuries were reported.

The vendor was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center and treated for minor injuries.

The perpetrator is still on the loose. He is described as a 5-foot-9-inch white male in a red cap and blue sweatshirt.

The campus was on lockdown for about 45 minutes after the incident.
