Man found shot dead in van in E. Germantown

Police are investigating the slaying of a 28-year-old man inside a minivan in East Germantown.

Don Gladden, of the 400 block of East Godfrey Avenue in Crescentville is the second person to be slain in Philadelphia this year.

His body was found in the driver's seat of a 2001 Pontiac minivan parked on the 700 block of East Rittenhouse Street about 1 p.m. Monday, police said.

He had been shot once in head and twice in chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are trying to establish a possible motive in the killing.
