2 slain by gunfire in city overnight

Two men were killed in separate shootings early today in the city, police report.

Two men were killed in separate shootings early today in the city, police report.

In the first incident, a man said to be 32 years old was shot once in the stomach about 12:50 a.m. at West Tioga and North Marvine Streets in North Philadelphia, police said.

He was taken by private car to Temple University Hospital, where he died at 3:25 a.m., police said.

In the other slaying, a man in his mid 20s was shot in the stomach, chest and face about 2 a.m. at South 21st and Mifflin Streets in South Philadelphia.

Medics pronounced him dead at the scene at 2:15 a.m., police said.

No word yet on possible motives in either slaying.
