According to police, Kennedy assaulted his girlfriend, with whom he has children, on the 1700 block of South 58th Street. Later Thursday, the woman went to Kennedy's home accompanied by five male family members. Kennedy confronted the group outside his home, pulling out a gun and shooting four of the men shortly before 9:30 p.m., police said. It was not clear whether anyone else was armed.
