Bucks hunter died of heart disease, autopsy shows
A hunter found dead in Bucks County on the first day of deer season had severe heart disease, an autopsy showed yesterday.
The body of the hunter, identified by police as Christopher Goodrich, 65, of the 200 block of Cafferty Road in Tinicum Township, was found Monday beneath a 14-foot tree hunting stand near his house.
Dr. Joseph Campbell, Bucks County coroner, said the autopsy showed no trauma from the fall. "He suffered a heart attack on the way up or on the way down," Campbell said.
Goodrich was said to hunt every year during deer season. When he did not return home Monday, his family called a friend, who discovered the body. His unloaded rifle was found three feet from his body, according to police.
