Bona is expected to return to on-court workouts within the first two weeks of training camp, according to a source. Bona was averaging 8.8 points and 7.3 rebounds through four games of the tournament.

He will play a key role for the Sixers behind Joel Embiid, who has played in only 57 combined regular season games in over the last two seasons. Bona will has some competition in the frontcourt after the team signed former New York Knicks backup Ariel Hukporti this summer.
Bona was in a similar position last year, splitting time with former Sixer Andre Drummond. The third-year player appeared in 71 games and averaged 4.8 points and 4.3 rebounds last season.
